"I am trying to find more information regarding my ancestor Petrus Hallmark (Halfemark, Halfmarke) (circa 1465AD). He is as far back as I can seem to trace my heritage. Do you have any records that go back further than that in his family line? He was a resident of your village. Any leads would be greatly appreciated." "My paternal grandfather Arthur Herbert Minshull and his wife Ada Littleton immigrated to Canada in the early 20th century from Cheshire but as both are now deceased as are 2 of their 3 sons including my father I have no access to any family history. My wife and I are in the process of planning a visit to England within the next couple of years and I would like to explore my family history both to satisfy my own curiosity and to give my children and grand children a sense of their own history. If you have any organizations in your community such as ,census information or local historical society ,tourist information organizations I could contact to begin the planning process I would be most appreciative. My Email address is minshull@nbnet.nb.ca and my surface mail address Walter A Minshull, C.A. 281 Main Street Sackville New Brunswick Canada E4l 3H2" "I've just been looking
at the Village Website, It's impressive, and has
brought back many memories. "Thank you for providing such an interesting website. It does your Village credit. The reason I write is that I am descended from a family of Farmers who were resident at Lee Green Hall during the 1851 census. The head of the household was Mary ROBINSON (b.1788) who is listed as a widow farmer of 250 acres. She was my Gt, Gt, Gt, Grandmother. I wondered if you have a local historian who might be able to tell me something about Lee Green Hall and perhaps also the family. I have attached a copy of the census return" "Hello. I came across your web page while researching my family history. My father's cousin owned a farm in Church Minshull. His name is Geoff Burrow. He married Jean Mellor and they had two children Nicola and Martin. Nicola died in 1973 at an early age and I believe is buried in the church graveyard in Church Minshull. I remember visiting the farm when I was a youngster living in Winsford. I wonder if you could post this information somewhere to see if anybody remembers the Burrow family. Here is a picture of Nicola's headstone Perhaps someone can confirm that it is in fact in the Church Minshull church graveyard. All the best from Victoria BC Canada and thanks." "My name is Alan Fairhurst from Crewe. I am involved in Family & Local History Research and I'm hoping you may be able to help me. Is there anyone at Church Minshull who has a good knowledge of local history.
Some ancestors of mine, (particularly Joseph
Fairhurst, born abt. 1877 at Woolston), became
farmers at Church Minshull. I have not yet found
which farm but his wife's family, Mary Dodd, farmed
at Wade's Green Farm during the 1800's. I hope you are able to advise me."
